Saving Money In Mount Washington Valley

I've lived in Conway about 11 years. Along the way I have found some inexpensive ways to shop, go out to dinner, and have fun. I'd love to show you how I live a frugal lifestyle in valley!

Today, I went out and about with my daughter who is also know as doodle bug to me. Our first stop was to the town dump. One of our favorite places to shop!

There was slim pickings today at the dump. I found this cute glass dish, I thought would be adorable for pickles or cheese and crackers.

Our next stop was at Shaws. I had rainchecks for chicken thighs for .79 a lb and ground turkey for 1.99 a pkg that had been on sale previous weeks. I got 5 packages of ground turkey to make dog food for my dear old dog. and 3 lbs of boneless chicken thighs.Hubby says he refuses to eat anything but chicken boneless chicken breast. But if i put it in pulled chix or buffalo chicken dip, you wont be able to tell!  I also got 2lbs of bananas free due to Doodle's free fruit card. Shaws will give kids a free banana or a free red delicious apple up to 1.00 when they shop. When scanned the card always takes a 1.00 off, so when bananas are .49 a lb. Doodle buys us 2 lbs for free! All of this for  12.00 sounds good to me! Doodle also got a free chocolate chip cookie from the bakery, but ate it wayy to fast to be photographed!

Next stop was the thrift store. We love this store because it helps out the Humane Society where our dog and cat both came from. We found some good deals. Doodle Bug got a Zommer Zuppie dog for a $1 which retails for I believe over $50. I bought three brand new packages of streamers for .25 a piece, Doodle insisted on getting a bunny bowl for for .25, and i got a chiccos necklace for 3.00

We are resting up after our frugal adventures before we got out to dinner with Ron's grandmother for her 80th birthday.
Going out can be so expensive!!!

We always pre look at the menu of the places we are going. Tonight we are splitting a pizza with doodle bug which is $10 for a large cheese that can feed all 3 of us. This will save us between $20-30 considering the entrees are 12.00 and up. Doodle is acustom to drinking water when we go out. Ron and I also limit our alcoholic drinks as those babies can add up fast! So tonight will not totally break the bank and we can celebrate Gigi in style!
